FAQ
What are kitchens equipped with?
- All kitchens have fridge, stove, microwave, drip coffee maker, toaster, dishes, pans, basic cutlery, cups, glasses
Do you provide bedding/linens?
- Yes, we provide linens and towels.
Where are the nearest restaurants and grocery stores?
- The town of Parry Sound (25 km from the resort) has restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacy, LCBO and various activities and attractions. In the summertime, there are some seasonal restaurants in the Carling area: Gilly's in Snug Harbour, Memories of Muskoka. Detour Store and Killbear Park Mall are two convenience stores that are open seasonally, located on 559, which is about 15 minutes from the resort.
Will you be offering boat rentals?
- No, but you can rent a boat from Dillon Cove Marina and dock it at the resort free of charge.
How do I pay my balance?
- We switched to a new booking engine in early 2024. The new system requires the total payment upfront. If you made your booking in 2023, you will receive an email with details to pay your balance when the payment is due.
What’s your cancellation policy?
- Deposits will be refunded in full if notification of cancellation is received 30 days prior to check-in date. Reservations cannot be modified or canceled within 30 days before the check-in date.
What’s check-in/check-out time?
- Check-in is at 4:00 pm, check-out is at 11:00 am. Unfortunately, early check-in or late check-out are not available.
Are your cottages equipped with A/C?
- There are no A/Cs, but the cottages usually stay cool as they are near the water. Some accommodations have ceiling fans. We can provide portable fans or you are welcome to bring your own if you need them.
Are your cottages equipped with heating?
- Yes, every cottage is equipped with baseboard electric heaters. Some are fully winterized. Please check individual cottage descriptions.
Is there a boat launch at the resort?
- Not on site, there is one at Sand Bay Resort, which is 550 meters away from Rockwood.
Is there a fee to dock your boat?
- No, boat docking is free of charge.
Do you offer equipment for water activities?
- No, we don't offer kayaks anymore
Do cottages have wifi?
- Yes, we provide wifi free of charge, however, at the moment, it is limited in some areas of the resort.
What cleaning is done by the owners prior to the guests arriving and what is expected to be cleaned by the guests?
- Upon check-out, we clean all cottages prior to new arrivals. We ask all guests to leave the cottages in the same condition as they are upon check-in.
Do you take a security deposit?
- We don’t charge a security deposit, however, any damages may incur a fine proportional to the repair or replacement costs.
Do you provide parking?
- Yes, we offer free parking for all guests.
Do the cottages have private BBQs and firepits?
- Every cottage has a private BBQ, some have private firepits. Please check with the resort manager if the weather during your stay is favorable for making fires.
What cleaning supplies do you provide?
- Every cottage has a dishwashing detergent, sponges, garbage bags, etc.
Is smoking allowed?
- Smoking is prohibited in all indoor accommodations.
Can I bring my dog with me?
- Some cottages are pet friendly, please look for the Pet Friendly icon in the amenities list. For pet friendly cottages, fees apply, and please follow the rules stated in the Pet Policy section of our Terms & Conditions.
